Life happens…

So, it has been an eventful few weeks, and I haven’t been as active here as I’d like.  But this isn’t necessarily a bad thing: As creatives, we have to learn how to balance life and work.  And while this isn’t specifically work (yet), it is still part of the creative process, networking, and marketing.

Over the past few weeks I have been, under the weather, fixing the car, trying to keep up on all the chores, making sure I am available to family, and even applying for possible jobs.  It seems like there is always some demand in our time.  And while not as motivated as I wish, I did get some images edited which I will share below.

I have to admit to recently questioning my path of being a creative, following the photographer’s dream…  Am I motivated enough?  Am I good enough?  Can I push myself creatively to open doors?  While I am excited to continue my education in the photographic arts, there are other things pressing me to consider other options, hence the applying for other job.  But even that I am questioning…  Am I giving up too easily?  Am I putting other, more material things in front of my dreams?  Am I trading in freedom of choice for stability?  What was the right answer?

But then it dawned on me:  There was no WRONG answer.  The point of all this is simply to keep moving forward.  Sure, there will be opportunity costs, there always will be.  A choice will always have to be made.  Weigh the options, make the choice, then move forward.  The jobs I applied for are no guarantee, so I will continue with classes an educating myself in the mean time, and whatever may come, it is what I made happen.  Be thankful, and enjoy the day for what it is.

Now here’s the fun stuff!  We had a car show here in the area a few weeks back…  My wife and I dreamed about spending money after winning the lottery…  Enjoy! 🙂
